ANIMALISTIC

{Blazer: Cotton On $30 (similar) | Shirt: Target $20 (similar) | Jeans: Old Navy $35 |
Loafers: Target $10 | Necklace: Gift (similar) | Bracelets: Forever 21 & Charming Charlie}

Lately, I have been seeing a lot of animal print on the streets, as well as in stores. One pattern I'm really loving is dalmatian print, or spots. I got this shirt on sale at Target a while back, and I have finally styled it with leopard loafers for a little mix I like to call Animalistic. The sun may set, but may the animal inside us stay alive forever.

Until next time,

Now that the holidays are over, there is no reason to stop adding a little shimmer to our daily look. When people think of iridescent colors, they automatically imagine peacocks, beetles and rocks. However, it is easy to stand out with iridescent accessories such as clutches, earrings and shoes. Iridescent shimmer is feminine with an adventurous punch of dare. If you don't feel comfortable sporting out-there accessories, a more subtle way to pull off the trend is with nail polish. Not only does Ciaté get the trend just right, it packages its nail polish in irresistably cute bottles. Happy shopping!

BACK TO SCHOOL

{Boots: Payless $35 (similar) | Cardigan: Target $15 | Shirt: Target $12 | Jeans: Old Navy $30 |
Watch: Charming Charlie Gift (similar) | Necklace: Cotton On $5 | Headband: Forever 21 $4}

It's the first day of the spring semester, and all I can think about is blogging. What can I say, blogging is more exciting than Math for Liberal Arts Majors II. I'm loving the cooler temperatures here in Gainesville mostly because I get to wear some of my winter faves, including these boots I bought last year. If I need to be comfortable walking around campus from class to class, I might as well look cute. Hope you have a happy Monday!

FRINGE & OXBLOOD

{Top: H&M $15 (similar) | Jeans: Marshalls $13 (similar) | Bracelet: Gift |
Booties: Madden Girl via Marshalls $36 | Earrings: Francesca's $18 (similar)}

I'm back in Gainesville for the spring semester! Although I miss my friends and family, I am happy to be back in my small college town. As of late, I am in love with oxblood anything. I snagged a pair of these at Marshalls, but they are selling these babies in practically every store. I wore this fringed top on Christmas Day over a tulle dress and thought maybe it would be hard to style with street clothes. But when paired with these jeans, it provides the perfect mix of fancy shmancy and casual cool. Another detail I love about this look is my sock bun (which went through many trial and error runs before looking like this). But with practice it gets easier. You can buy the styler here. Happy Sunday!

FOREST GREEN

{Coat: Old Navy $35 (similar) | Top: Marshalls $15 (similar) | Jeans: Old Navy $35 |
Shoes: Ann Taylor Borrowed (similar) | Handbag: Anne Klein via Marshalls $40}

It's appropriate for my first outfit post of 2013 to feature the color of the year: green. I love this coat for so many reasons, but mostly because it automatically livens any outfit you pair it with. Although in sunny Naples it might not be cold enough to wear all afternoon, this peacoat may be the splash of color you need to brighten the upcoming snow days. I borrowed these Ann Taylor "Armadillo" booties from my sister, but flats like these Steve Madden loafers would look great as well. Happy strolling!

I want to begin the year looking back. Not only because the past makes us who we are but also because the past serves as future inspiration. December 2012 was a very special month for me. I finished my first semester of my junior year in college. I had a wonderful holiday dinner with my friends in Gainesville. I caught many (maybe too many) holiday sales. I ate delicious Cuban food at family parties. I painted my nails... a lot. And most importantly, I began Shoes Over Roses. I hope all of you can draw inspiration from 2012 and use it as the foundation for a strong, healthy and beautiful 2013.

Much love,
