For some reason, adding a stand-out, in-your-face color to my outfit on cold and gloomy days brings a smile to my face. And to go along with the neon pink of my Cambridge Satchel wannabe bag, are the bright orange bars that make up the "strands" of Gainesville's so-called "DNA bridge." And as for maxi skirts, these babies are not only super cute — and comfy! — but also extremely versatile. Wear them in the winter with jean jackets, knit sweaters and chunky scarves!

Years ago, a young and naive Yaissy would write down a list of her top 10 favorite toys, slip it under the tree and wait patiently for Christmas Eve. Ten years later, the wish lists are still around. Only these kind of toys don't require batteries. (And they are a bit more pricey than your average Barbie doll.) At least the list shrunk from 10 to six this year, okay. I know, I know most of these items will never land a spot under my tree. But hey, a girl can dream right?

Lately, I have caught myself reaching for darker pieces of clothing in my closet. I don't know if it's the weather or the fact that black flatters just about any figure. I blame it on the cold. Make sure to stay bundled up in cute scarves as winter gets closer. Warm hugs!

I was always the type of girl to shy away from mixing prints, textures and colors. That is, until recently. I love how the lacy stripes settle over the flowy polka-dot dress. The red bag gives the outfit the pop of color it needs (especially since it was such a gloomy day by the lake). I've realized that there is nothing wrong with breaking out of your comfort zone every now and then and trying something different. And if you're lucky, you'll even make friends with baby ducklings, too.

What's better than a fashionable stroll through the park on a lazy Sunday afternoon? A delicious chocolate chip cupcake! When I first got my hands on this winter coat, I thought it would be difficult to style. Little did I know, green and leopard are made for each other. It's definitely a great stand-out piece to have in your wardrobe for the fall and winter season. And as the holidays approach, many stores begin having sales on all things outerwear. Stay on the lookout!
